Leonor Amaral started playing rugby in the senior female team of CR Técnico, in the 2003/04 season, when she was only 14 years old.During the 12 seasons that she represented the Lisbon club, Leonor Amaral was National Champion twice, in 2009/10 and 2011/12, and won two Portugal Cups, in the seasons of 2012/13 and 2014/15, her last season representing CR Técnico.
In the 2015/16 season, Leonor Amaral was part of Sporting Clube de Portugal’s first female rugby senior team. As a national team player, Leonor Amaral has represented her country several times since 2008. Over the years, she participated in 17 stages of the European Championship (7s), in the European and World Recap Tournaments for the 2016 Olympic Games, at the University World Cups 2011 and 2016, the 2011 Elche International Tournament, the 2012 London 7’s, and the 2014 World 7’s qualification – Hong Kong 7s.
Leonor has definitely achieved a lot in her rugby career and in a few weeks she will be adding one more achievement to her already impressive list, The Rugby Tens Championship!
