Another young man to come out of the elite rugby school, Paul Roos Gymnasium in Stellenbosch, South Africa, we introduce to you, Grant Hermanus.
Many Springbok players have come out of this school and Grant is yet another fine example as he was selected for the South African School team in 2013. This only meant great things to come for this South African rugby player.
After school he joined the Western Province Institute in Stellenbosch and was a member of the U19 Western province squad. In 2015 he was part of the South African U20 Squad that toured to Argentina prior to the 2015 World Rugby Under 20 Championship.
He made his first class debut for the Western Province, South African union team The Stormers during the 2015 Vodacom Cup.
It’s in 2019 that he made a change and moved to Kimberly to join another South African Union team, the Griquas, where he played in the Currie Cup as a fullback, flyhalf and wing.
After all his success with rugby in South Africa, Hermanus decided to make a switch and move to a country he first toured as a young rugby player, making a full circle. He is now currently living in Argentina and is part of the Olimpia Lions squad, a professional rugby union team based in Asuncion.
This year he will add another achievement to his impressive list as he will be joining us at the R10C launch next month in Lisbon, Portugal.
