Collins Injera

Coming in hot at R10C! The man that knows no limits when it comes to his speed, the man that holds 2nd place for most number tries scored on the World Rugby Sevens Series with 279 tries, the speedster himself, Collins Injera!

Injera, one of Kenya’s superstar rugby players, has been playing rugby since his school days at Vihiga High School. He then went on and joined the military team, Ulinzi RFC, that played in the Kenya Cup league and the Mwamba RFC, a Nairobi-based team where he plays as a wing.

Injera made his first national team debut at the 2006 Dubai Sevens and went on to play in the 2009 Rugby World Cup Sevens, where Kenya reached the semifinals. He became the top try scorer for 2008/09 IRB Sevens World Series season with 42 tries and believe us when we say his achievements did not stop there.

He was nominated for the 2008/09 IRB Sevens Player of the Year award, named Kenyan Sportsman of the Year in 2009, was awarded the Presidential Order of Golden Warriors (OGW) alongside his brother Humphrey Kayange for their performance in the 2008/09 IRB Sevens World Series. Not only that, in 2016 Injera was named Player of The Singapore Sevens, after helping Kenya to win their first tournament in the World Sevens Series!

Not to stop there, Collins Injera is such a great rugby player and so versatile, that he has also played for the Kenya national 15s team at the 2011 World Cup Qualifiers.

This man is one to watch, sprinting across the field and scoring tries. That’s if you don’t miss him speeding by!
