Cecil Afrika

South Africa’s all time leading World Series scorer, the man with the lightning boots, we are thrilled to welcome to R10C, Cecil Afrika.

A humble superstar, Cecil started his rugby career “quick and fast” representing Union teams like the Griffons and the Cheetahs. Cecil went big with South African rugby at a very young age, as he represented the U20 South African School Boys squad in 2006 in the IRB Junior World Championships earning bronze.

He made his debut for the South African Sevens team during the Dubai leg in 2009/10 IRB Sevens World Series and became the top try and point scorer for the 2010/11 IRB Sevens World Series at the age of only 22. His outstanding performances at such a young age earned him the IRB International Sevens Player of the Year award in 2011.
In 2016, his lightning speed and dazzling side-steps helped South Africa earn an Olympic bronze medal.

Cecil is also currently playing for the San Diego Legion in the US MLR (Major League Rugby).
We cannot wait to see what Cecil will bring on to the field in Portugal!
